2007 Season Preview

RICHMOND, Ind. — Earlham College Head Women’s Soccer Coach Jim Watts welcomes back nine letterwinners as he starts his seventh year with the Quakers.

Topping the list of returnees is junior Maddie Daskovsky (Evanston, IL/Evanston Township) and sophomore Franny Newport (Bowling Green, OH/St. Ursula). Daskovsky was on the All-North Coast Athletic Conference Second Team with three goals and one assist, while Newport was the second-leading scorer for the Quakers with five goals and one assist.

Juniors Elby O’Neil (West Lafayette, IN/West Lafayette) and Abi Maycock (Belfast, ME/Belfast Area) were starters on last year’s squad that finished 7-8-2, while sophomores Callie Thompson (Louisville, KY/Dupont Manual) and Faye Rowell (Commiskey, IN/Jennings County) were part-time starters. Others back are junior Natasha Kroma (Marion, IN/Marion), junior Harriet Rollitt (Odessa, FL/United World) and sophomore Amy Boxell (Andover, MA/Andover).

Newcomers to the team are first-years Megan Holthaus (Harrison, OH/McAuley), Cori Mathieu (Madison, WI/Madison West), Karman Duchon (Decatur, GA/Decatur), Emily Bohall (Columbus, IN/East), Lauren Shade (North Vernon, IN/Jennings County), Allie Zeller (Cincinnati, OH/Ameila), Rachel Dana (Columbus, IN/North), Lauren Berry (Durham, NC/Carolina Friends), Danika Stoltz (Columbus, OH/Grandview Heights), JoBeth Buckley (Berkley, MI/Berkley) and Michelle Bahnick (Seattle, WA/Ingraham).

Earlham begins the season with the third annual El Rodeo Raven/Quaker Classic on Matlack Field on Aug. 31. The Quakers face Capital University at 3 p.m.
