Quakers Win Second Straight

RICHMOND, Ind. — A pair of unassisted goals in the second half by first-year Karman Duchon Saturday afternoon gave the Earlham College women’s soccer team a 3-2 victory over the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology on Matlack Field.
The Quakers, who remain unbeaten at 2-0-1, trailed 2-1 when Duchon (Decatur, GA/Decatur) tied the contest with her first score at the 68:07. Duchon scored the game-winner at 82:59. She now has six goals on the season.
Sophomore Callie Thompson (Louisville, KY/Dupont Manual) got the Quakers on the scoreboard first with a goal at 20:57 with an assist from first-year Rachel Dana (Columbus, IN/North) on a corner kick.
Rose-Hulman tied the match 1-1 with a goal at 34:12. The Engineers took their one goal advantage at 53:31.
First-year Megan Holthaus (Harrison, OH/McAuley) had nine saves for the Quakers.
Rose-Hulman had a 12-11 edge in shots with an 8-3 advantage in corner kicks.
Earlham (2-0-1) entertains DePauw University on Sunday. The non-conference match starts at noon.
