Overtime Goal by Daskovsky Wins Match for Quakers

RICHMOND, Ind. — A goal from junior Maddie Daskovsky gave the Earlham College women’s soccer squad a 3-2 double overtime win over Anderson University Wednesday on Matlack Field.

Daskovsky (Evanston, IL/Evanston Township) scored the game-winner at 1:06:58 of the second extra session with an assist from sophomore Callie Thompson (Louisville, KY/Dupont Manual).

Anderson scored the first goal of the contest before sophomore Faye Rowell (North Vernon, IN/Jennings County) tied the match 1-1 at 36:29. Sophomore Abi Maycock (Belfast, ME/Belfast Area) was credited with the assist.

Thompson and Daskovsky teamed to give the Quakers a 2-1 lead in the second period with Thompson finding the net at 49:46. The Ravens countered at 83:05 to send the match to overtime.

Earlham had a 22-6 edge in shots with a 14-1 advantage in corner kicks.

First-year JoBeth Buckley (Berkley, MI/Berkley) had two saves for the Quakers.

The Quakers (3-1-1) entertain Hanover College on Saturday. The non-conference match starts at 1 p.m. Box score.
