Quakers Blank Hanover for Second Straight Win

RICHMOND, Ind. — Two goals in the second half Saturday sealed a victory for the Earlham College women’s soccer team as the Quakers defeated Hanover College 3-0 on Matlack Field.
First-year Lauren Berry (Durham, NC/Carolina Friends) scored at 9:18 to give the Quakers a 1-0 lead.
In the second half, sophomore Callie Thompson (Louisville, KY/Dupont Manual) made it 2-0 with a score at 50:16 with an assist from first-year Karman Duchon (Decatur, GA/Decatur).
Junior Maddie Daskovsky (Evanston, IL/Evanston Township) closed out the scoring with a goal at 60:33 with first-year Lauren Shade (North Vernon, IN/Jennings County) assisting on the play.
First-year Megan Holthaus (Harrison, OH/McAuley) had five saves for the Quakers before giving way to junior Natasha Kroma (Marion, IN/Marion), who finished with four saves.
Hanover led in shots 12-11, while Earlham a 6-4 edge in corner kicks.
Earlham (4-1-1) entertains Adrian College on Wednesday. The non-conference match starts at 5 p.m. Box score.
