Quakers Play NCAC Match at Allegheny

MEADVILLE, Pa. — The Earlham College women’s soccer team had its five-game winning streak snapped on Saturday as Allegheny College defeated the Quakers 2-1 in the North Coast Athletic Conference opener for both teams.
Allegheny scored a goal in the first half and followed with another early in the second period before the Quakers found the net.
Sophomore Callie Thompson (Louisville, KY/Dupont Manual) scored on a penalty kick at 67:33.
First-year goalkeeper Megan Holthaus (Harrison, OH/McAuley) had 10 saves for the Quakers.
Allegheny led 16-10 in shots and had an 8-2 advantage in corner kicks.
Earlham (7-2-1) is at Franklin College on Tuesday. The non-conference match is at 4 p.m. Box score.
