Nationally Ranked Wittenberg Defeats Quakers

RICHMOND, Ind. — The Earlham College women’s soccer team had its four-game winning streak snapped on Tuesday as the Quakers faced nationally ranked Wittenberg University.
The No. 17 Tigers defeated Earlham 3-0 in the North Coast Athletic Conference match on Matlack Field. Wittenberg University is now 13-2-1, 4-0-1.
Wittenberg scored twice in the first period and added its final score in the second half.
First-year goalkeeper JoBeth Buckley (Berkley, MI/Berkley) had six saves for the Quakers. Wittenberg led 20-6 in shots and 9-6 in corner kicks.
Earlham (11-3-1, 3-2) entertains Hiram College on Saturday during Homecoming Weekend. The NCAC begins at 1 p.m. Box score.
