RICHMOND, Ind. — Former Earlham College women’s soccer assistant Jocelyn Keller has been named as the replacement for Head Coach Jim Watts in a move announced on Monday by Athletics Director Frank Carr.

A native of Cincinnati, Ohio, Keller was at Earlham from 2004-06 under Watts. Watts accepted the head coaching position at Hanover College earlier this year after seven seasons with the Quakers that included a 12-5-1 finish last fall.

“I'm pleased to have Jocelyn coming back to Earlham to take charge of our women's soccer program,” Carr said. “She brings a tremendous understanding of Earlham along with an enthusiasm and passion for soccer.”

The prospect of having the important components last year’s roster return excites Keller. “I am returning to a program that has recently experienced success,” she said. “It is my desire and goal to build on this success and guide this program to the next level.”

“I am thrilled and honored to return to the Earlham community,” Keller added. “I have fond memories of the college, its faculty, staff, and the student-athletes, some of whom I helped recruit.”

As an assistant coach at Washington and Lee University in Virginia last season, Keller helped the squad to a 16-4 record. In 2006, she was an assistant at Williams College in Massachusetts where the Ephs posted an 8-3-3 mark.

“During the past two years I have had the opportunity to work under coaches with two nationally ranked soccer programs,” Keller said. “Both served as phenomenal mentors, which I believe has proven to be very beneficial in my pursuit of a career in collegiate soccer.”

Since leaving Earlham, Keller has also acquired a national coaching license in 2007 and a goalkeeping license in 2008.

Keller graduated from DePauw University in 2004, after lettering from 2000-03. As a captain her senior year, she was second team all-conference and most valuable player. DePauw made NCAA Tournament appearances in 2001 and 2003 and reached the Final Four in her last season. She was named the most improved player in 2000.
