Quakers Beat Central State

RICHMOND, Ind. — The Earlham College women’s tennis team picked up a 9-0 victory Thursday afternoon over Central State University on the Trueblood Courts in the Athletics and Wellness Center.
The Quakers won six matches and received defaults in the other three contests.
Senior Jenn Silver (Champaign, IL/Urbana) and first-year Rachel Hawkins (Midland, MI/Herbert Henry Dow) won at No. 1 doubles, while junior Claire Rivron (Bloomington, IN/South) and sophomore Avery Goldman (New Haven, CT/Hamden) were victorious at No. 2 doubles.
In singles, Hawkins won at No. 1 singles with junior Liz Byrd (Richmond, IN/Richmond) taking her match at No. 2. First-year Megan Rahill (Indianapolis, IN/International) posted a win at No. 3 and Tulani Foy (Carbondale, IL/Carbondale) won at No. 4.
Earlham (6-2) visits Oberlin College on Saturday. The North Coast Athletic Conference match begins at 10 a.m. Scoresheet.— EC —
