Quakers Face NCAC Foe Oberlin College

DAYTON, Ohio — The Earlham College women’s tennis team dropped a 6-3 decision on Saturday to North Coast Athletic Conference rival Oberlin College on the Dayton Center Courts.
Earlham got a win at No. 3 doubles from first-years Rebecca Ogle (Indianapolis, IN/Brebeuf) and Nora Mineva (Pleven, Bulgaria/Lester B. Pearson). The duo defeated Jane Hayden and Sarah Teitelbaum 9-8 (7-5).
Seniors Liz Byrd (Richmond, IN/Richmond) and Kate Unver (Ridgewood, NJ/Ridgewood) won their singles contests for the Quakers. Byrd beat Jackie Golden 6-4, 7-6 (7-4) at No. 2, while Unver took care of Olivia Hayden 6-3, 6-3 at No. 3.
The Quakers (6-3, 0-3) return to action on Wednesday at the College of Mount St. Joseph. The non-conference match gets underway at 4 p.m. Scoresheet.— EC —
