Quakers Start NCAC Tournament

OBERLIN, Ohio — The Earlham College women’s tennis team will play the College of Wooster for seventh place in the North Coast Athletic Conference Tournament on Saturday at Oberlin College.
The Quakers began the two-event on Friday with a 5-1 loss to Kenyon College before falling by the same score to Ohio Wesleyan University.
Against Kenyon, first-years Rebecca Ogle (Indianapolis, IN/Brebeuf) and Nora Mineva (Pleven, Bulgaria/Lester B. Pearson) gave the Quakers their only victory with an 8-2 win over Julia Diskint and Erin Ivanhoff at No. 3 doubles.
Seniors Liz Byrd (Richmond, IN/Richmond) and Kate Unver (Ridgewood, NJ/Ridgewood) teamed at No. 1 doubles to beat Katie Figgie and Kirsten Pfund of Ohio Wesleyan 8-5 for Earlham’s win against the Bishops.
Earlham (7-5) finishes its season against Wooster at 9 a.m.
