Quakers Beat Wooster in Season Finale

OBERLIN, Ohio — The Earlham College women’s tennis team finished its season on Saturday with a 5-0 win over the College of Wooster for seventh place in the North Coast Athletic Conference Tournament at Oberlin College.
The Quakers (8-5) won all three doubles contest and then put away the match with a pair of singles victories.
Seniors Liz Byrd (Richmond, IN/Richmond) and Kate Unver (Ridgewood, NJ/Ridgewood) won 8-3 over Elissa Lauber and Brenna Hart at No. 1 doubles.
At No. 2 doubles, sophomore Rachel Hawkins (Midland, MI/Herbert Henry Dow) and senior Claire Rivron (Bloomington, IN/South) beat Eden Kovacik and Erin Bauer 8-5.
First-years Rebecca Ogle (Indianapolis, IN/Brebeuf) and Nora Mineva (Pleven, Bulgaria/Lester B. Pearson) won 8-1 over Suzanne Hamby and Meredith Gavin at No. 3 doubles.
In singles, Unver defeated Bauer 6-2, 6-0 at No. 3, while Ogle beat Hamby by an identical score at No. 4. The other four matches were not completed. Scoresheet.— EC —
