Records Fall as Bohall Leads Quakers at Hanover

HANOVER, Ind. — Senior Sara Bohall won two events and established three records Saturday as the Earlham College women’s track squad finished third out of six teams in the Hanover Invitational.
Bohall (Westport, IN/Columbus East) won the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:03.87, which is an Earlham record. Her time was also a meet record and a NCAA Div. III provisional qualifying time for the national championship meet.
Another meet record fell as Bohall won the 100-meter hurdles in 15.49 seconds. The 1,600-meter relay team anchored by Bohall was second with a time of 4:21.38. First-year Alison McEmber (Newtown, CT/Newtown), sophomore Eirinn Cooper (Franklin, IN/International) and first-year Rachel Dana (Columbus, IN/North) ran before Bohall in the relay.
McEmber was Earlham’s other individual champion as she finished first in the 400 meters with a time of 1:03.78.
Earlham’s other participants to score Saturday were:
• Senior Rebecca Tolmach (Atlanta, GA/Henry W. Grady), second, 3,000 steeplechase, 13:11.67.
• Dana, third, 100 hurdles, 17:39.
• Senior Anna Chatfield (Doylestown, OH/Chippewa), third, 5,000, 20:30.71.
• L.J. James (Greencastle, IN/Greencastle), third, shot put, 34’4½.”
• James, third, discus, 96’2½.”
• Dana, fourth, 400 hurdles, 1:14.04.
• Sophomore Erin Witham (Arrowsic, ME/North Yarmouth), fourth, 400, 1:11.35.
• Cooper, fourth, 800, 2:29.72.
• James, fourth, hammer, 95’10¼.”
• Junior Michelle Crane (Mansfield, OH/Saint Peter’s), fifth, 800, 2:33.01.
• Crane, fifth, 1,500, 5:14.60.
• First-year Melissa Barnes (Montego Bay, Jamaica/Montego Bay), fifth, shot put, conversion unavailable.
• First-year Caryn Wixom (St. Louis, MO/Rosati-Kain), sixth, 5,000, 20:57.56.
• First-year Ramona Hemmings (Cleveland, OH/Shaw), sixth, long jump, conversion unavailable.
• Hemmings, sixth, triple jump, conversion unavailable.
• Junior Kathleen Parker (Brooklyn, NY/Northfield Mt. Hermon, MA), sixth, shot put, conversion unavailable.

The next meet for the Quakers is the Anderson Invitational next Saturday. The event gets underway at 11 a.m.
