Records Set by Bohall as Quakers Win 12 Events

RICHMOND, Ind. — Senior Sara Bohall highlighted the effort of the Earlham College women’s track team on Saturday afternoon as the Quakers won the Earlham Invitational at Darrell Beane Stadium.
Bohall (Westport, IN/Columbus East) won both hurdle races and anchored a winning relay squad. “I’m very proud of our team, but especially Sara,” Earlham Head Coach Nick Johnson said. “If anyone deserves to go to the NCAA Division III National Championship Meet next month, it’s her.”
In winning the 400-meter hurdles, Bohall set an Earlham record and a meet mark, while posting a NCAA provisional qualifying time of 1:02.64. The automatic qualifying time for the event is 1:02.00. “I’m fairly confident that her time will get her into the meet.”
Bohall also won the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 15.47 seconds. The 1,600-meter relay team of junior Jessica Kane (Milladore, WI/Auburndale), first-year Alison McEmber (Newtown, CT/Newtown), sophomore Erin Witham (Arrowsic, ME/North Yarmouth) and Bohall was victorious with a time of 4:19.01.
Overall, the Quakers won 12 of the 18 events with juniors Michelle Crane (Mansfield, OH/Saint Peter’s) and L.J. James (Greencastle, IN/Greencastle) picking up two wins each. Crane won the 1,500 meters in 5:18.72, while running the 5,000 meters in 19:29.58 to claim first place.
James had a toss of 105’8” to win the discus after throwing of 34’9½” to finish first in the shot put. She was also second in the hammer with a distance of 89’0.”
The other individual winners for the Quakers were McEmber, sophomore Eirinn Cooper (Franklin, IN/International), senior Rebecca Tolmach (Atlanta, GA/Henry W. Grady), junior Allison Blaetz (Palantine, IL/William Fremd) and first-year Cristyn Wenn (Fairmount, IN/Madison Grant).
McEmber won the 400 meters in 1:04.35, while Cooper won the 800 meters in 2:28.74. Tolmach was first in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 13:40.63. Blaetz won the pole vault by clearing 9’0¼.” Wenn had a leap of 4’7¾” to take the high jump.

• Senior Megan Carter (Lewis, IN/Terre Haute South Vigo), second, 800, 2:41.48.
• Senior Anna Chatfield (Doylestown, OH/Chippewa), second, 1,500, 5:27.89.
• Junior Kathleen Parker (Brooklyn, NY/Northfield Mt. Hermon, MA), second, shot put, 31’4¾.”
• 400 relay team of Dana, Kane, Witham and McEmber, second, 54.11.
• Witham, third, 200, 30.07.
• Wenn, third, 100, 15.87.
• Dana, third, 100 hurdles, 17:10.
