Quakers play pair of matches at Hiram

HIRAM, Ohio —
The Earlham College volleyball squad finished its weekend road
trip on Saturday as North Coast Athletic Conference foe Hiram College
entertained the Quakers and Manchester College.
Hiram defeated Earlham
30-12, 30-11, 30-16 in the opener, while Manchester followed
with a 30-22, 30-28, 30-20 win over the Quakers.
Junior Ashley Govro
(Greensburg, IN/North Decatur) led the Quakers against Hiram with
five kills, eight assists and 10 digs. Sophomore Jessica Whitaker
(Indianapolis, IN/Scecina) also
had
five kills and eight digs. Sophomore Kaitlin Gentry (Kent,
OH/Roosevelt) had eight assists and eight digs. Senior Loni Clark
(Greens Fork, IN/Hagerstown) added
four kills.
Whitaker and sophomore Sara Prince (Dresden, OH/Tri-Valley)
led the Quakers with 12 kills each against Manchester. Govro had
six kills and 11 assists, while
Gentry
had 15
assists. First-year Kathryn Evans (Milton, IN/Muncie Burris)
led Earlham with 28 digs.
Earlham
(5-17, 1-4) plays Kenyon College Wednesday on Schuckman Court in
the Athletics and Wellness Center. The NCAC match
gets underway at 7 p.m.
