Quakers split a pair of matches

DELAWARE, Ohio —
The Earlham College volleyball squad split a pair of matches Saturday
at Ohio Wesleyan University.
In the North Coast Athletic Conference
match against Ohio Wesleyan, the Quakers were defeated 30-17,
30-24, 30-25. Earlham bounced
back with a 30-18, 30-27, 30-25 victory over Thiel College, which
is from Pennsylvania.
Senior Ajia Coleman (Stone Mountain, GA/Maple,
Heights, OH) led the Quakers with eight kills against Ohio
Wesleyan. Sophomore Kaitlin Gentry (Kent,
OH/Roosevelt) had 16 assists, while first-year
Kathryn Evans (Milton, IN/Muncie Burris) had 26 digs.
Against
Thiel, sophomore Jessica Whitaker (Indianapolis, IN/Scecina) had
16 kills, while Gentry had 24 assists. Junior Ashley Govro
(Greensburg, IN/North Decatur) added
16 assists. Senior Sue
Piotrzkowski (Indianapolis, IN/Scecina) led the way with
20 digs. Coleman had three blocks.
Earlham (8-19, 2-6) returns to
action Tuesday for senior night on Schuckman Court against Transylvania
University.
Loni
Clark (Greens Fork, IN/Hagerstown) along with Coleman and
Piotrzkowski will be honored during their final appearance
at home. The
non-conference match
begins at 6 p.m.
