Quakers Start Long Road Trip at Hiram

HIRAM, Ohio — The Earlham College volleyball team fell to No. 17 Hiram College Friday night 30-19, 23-30, 30-19, 30-15 in a North Coast Athletic Conference match.

Junior Lisa Vanderkolk (Bluffton, IN/Bluffton), Junior Jessica Whitaker (Indianapolis, IN/Scecina) and first-year Keeley McAnnis-Entenman (Portland, OR/Grant) led the Quakers nine kills each. Vanderkolk and Whitaker also had 16 digs apiece. Whitaker led the squad with four blocks.

Senior Ashley Govro (Greensburg, IN/North Decatur) and junior Amanda Prewitt (Greenwood, IN/Greenwood) led Earlham with 16 assists each, while Prewitt had a team-high 18 digs. Sophomore Kathryn Evans (Milton, IN/Muncie Burris) contributed 13 digs. Junior Sara Prince (Dresden, OH/Tri Valley) added four blocks.

The Quakers (9-6, 2-5) continue their road trip on Saturday at Allegheny College. The NCAC contest is at 1 p.m. Box Score.
