Quakers Open EC Fall Classic with Victory

RICHMOND, Ind. — The Earlham College volleyball team opened the EC Fall Classic with a 30-11, 30-15, 30-11 win over Berea College Friday night on Schuckman Court in the Athletics and Wellness Center.
It was the second straight victory for the Quakers (11-6) and third in the last five matches.
Junior Jessica Whitaker (Indianapolis, IN/Scecina) led the Quakers with 14 kills, while first-year Keeley McAnnis-Entenman (Portland, OR/Grant) added nine.
Senior Ashley Govro (Greensburg, IN/North Decatur) had 15 assists and junior Amanda Prewitt (Greenwood, IN/Greenwood) had 12.
Sophomore Kathryn Evans (Milton, IN/Muncie Burris) led Earlham with 11 digs and first-year Aleta Cox (Marion, IN/Eastbrook) had three service aces.
In the other first round match on Friday, the University of Mobile defeated Oakland City University 30-18, 30-21, 30-19.
Saturday’s schedule starts with Mobile playing Berea at 9 a.m. with the Quakers facing Oakland City at 11 a.m. In the final round, Oakland City meets Berea at 1 a.m. Earlham and Mobile finish the tourney at 3 p.m. Box Score.
