RICHMOND, Ind. — Hitting made the difference for the Earlham College volleyball team on Saturday as the Quakers defeated Oberlin College 30-21, 30-17, 30-28 in a North Coast Athletic Conference match on Schuckman Court in the Athletics and Wellness Center.

Junior Lisa Vanderkolk (Bluffton, IN/Bluffton) led the Quakers with 14 kills in 31 attempts, while first-year Keeley McAnnis-Entenman (Portland, OR/Grant) added 13 kills in 19 attempts. Juniors Sara Prince (Dresden, OH/Tri-Valley) and Amanda Prewitt (Greenwood, IN/Greenwood) four kills each with high hitting percentages. “Our hitting picked up, which was nice to see because we have been struggling the last couple of weeks,” Earlham Head Coach Natalie Alred said. “Lisa, Sara, Keeley and Amanda all hit over .300.”

Prewitt led the way with 22 assists and senior Ashley Govro (Greensburg, IN/North Decatur) added 21. “We had a real balanced offense and I’m proud of the way we spread it around,” Alred said.

Junior Jessica Whitaker (Indianapolis, IN/Scecina) had nine kills and a team-high 19 digs. Prince and Govro had two blocks apiece and Prewitt had four service aces.

Earlham (13-12, 4-9) entertains Wittenberg University on Wednesday. The NCAC contest gets underway at 7 p.m. Box Score.
