Quakers Open Final Weekend of Season

RICHMOND, Ind. — The Earlham College volleyball team started its final weekend of the season with a 30-14, 30-27, 30-18 loss to North Coast Athletic Conference power Hiram College on Schuckman Court in the Athletics and Wellness Center.
Junior Lisa Vanderkolk (Bluffton, IN/Bluffton) led the Quakers with nine kills with junior Jessica Whitaker (Indianapolis, IN/Scecina) adding six kills.
Senior Ashley Govro (Greensburg, IN/North Decatur) led the way for Earlham with 13 assists, while junior Amanda Prewitt (Greenwood, IN/Greenwood) contributed 10 assists and three service aces.
Vanderkolk and Govro led Earlham with 12 digs each with sophomore Kathryn Evans (Milton, IN/Muncie Burris) adding 11 digs.
Hiram, the defending regular season champs in the NCAC, is now 29-2 overall and 14-1 in the conference.
The Quakers (13-14, 4-11) face Allegheny College at home on Saturday. The NCAC match begins at noon. Allegheny will play then Bluffton University at 2 p.m.
Govro and senior Donna Vincent (El Paso, TX/Coronado) will be honored for their careers with the Quakers prior to Earlham’s match with Bluffton at 4 p.m. Box Score.
