Quakers Finish Season With Split

RICHMOND, Ind. — The Earlham College volleyball team finished its season Saturday afternoon by splitting a pair of matches on Schuckman Court in the Athletics and Wellness Center.

Earlham defeated Bluffton University 30-19, 30-27, 30-20 after starting the day with a 27-30, 30-20, 30-22, 30-27 loss to Allegheny College in a North Coast Athletic Conference contest.

Junior Jessica Whitaker (Indianapolis, IN/Scecina) led the Quakers with 11 kills and 12 digs against Bluffton, while junior Lisa Vanderkolk (Bluffton, IN/Bluffton) added nine kills. Junior Amanda Prewitt (Greenwood, IN/Greenwood) had 19 assists with three service aces. First-year Keeley McAnnis-Entenman (Portland, OR/Grant) had seven blocks.

In their final matches with the Quakers, senior Ashley Govro (Greensburg, IN/North Decatur) had 12 assists and nine digs, while classmate Donna Vincent (El Paso, TX/Coronado) finished with nine digs.

Against Allegheny, Vanderkolk had 23 kills and nine blocks with Whitaker adding 12 kills. Prewitt led the way with 29 assists with Govro contributing 20 assists. Vincent had 24 digs, while Govro added 22 digs.

Earlham finishes the season at 14-15 overall, which is the most wins since the 18 recorded in 2000. The Quakers were 4-12 in the NCAC.
