Earlham Starts Season in EC Quaker Classic

RICHMOND, Ind. — The Earlham College volleyball squad started its season Friday in the opening round of the EC Classic on Schuckman Court in the Athletics and Wellness Center.
 
Taylor University-Ft. Wayne defeated Earlham 30-28, 30-23, 30-25 in the first match for the Quakers, while the University of Dubuque won 30-23, 30-18, 30-28 over Earlham in the final contest of the night.

Senior Lisa Vanderkolk (Bluffton, IN/Bluffton) led the Quakers with 24 kills on the night.

Earlham (0-2) plays Olivet College today at 9 a.m. The Quakers conclude their portion of the tournament against Alma College at 11 a.m. Taylor-Ft. Wayne box. Dubuque box.

• Dubuque def. Olivet 30-27, 30-13, 30-20.
• Alma def. Manchester 30-22, 30-22, 28-30, 26-30, 15-9.
• Taylor-Ft. Wayne def. Urbana 30-26, 30-26, 34-32.
• Manchester def. Olivet 30-25, 30-18, 30-28.
• Urbana def. Alma 30-27, 30-20, 30-27.
