Quakers Challenge Nationally Ranked Hiram

RICHMOND, Ind. — The Earlham College volleyball team faced the No. 24 team in the nation on Friday night as the Quakers fell 30-21, 30-22, 23-30, 30-25 in a North Coast Athletic Conference match against Hiram College.
Earlham trailed early in the first two games before rallying to win the third contest leading by at least seven points several times. Hiram (16-1, 5-0) responded to take the fourth game and the match.
Senior Lisa Vanderkolk (Bluffton, IN/Bluffton) led the Quakers with 15 kills with classmate Jessica Whitaker (Indianapolis, IN/Scecina) adding 13 kills.
Sophomore Keeley McAnnis-Entenman (Portland, OR/Grant) had nine kills, while leading the squad with 10 blocks.
Senior Sara Prince (Dresden, OH/Tri-Valley) contributed eight kills and four blocks.
Senior Amanda Prewitt (Greenwood, IN/Greenwood) had 43 assists.
Senior Kaitlin Gentry (Kent, OH/Roosevelt) led Earlham with 23 digs and senior Kari Schneider (Cincinnati, OH/Mt. Notre Dame) finished with three aces and 15 digs.
The Quakers (7-9, 1-3) face Allegheny College Saturday on Schuckman Court in the Athletics and Wellness Center. The NCAC contest starts at noon. Box score.
