For Immediate Release:
Nov. 3, 2007
RICHMOND, Ind. — Two Earlham College volleyball players picked up honors from the North Coast Athletic Conference on Saturday.
Senior Lisa Vanderkolk (Bluffton, IN/Bluffton) was selected as All-NCAC First Team, while sophomore Keeley McAnnis-Entenman (Portland, OR/Grant) received honorable mention.
Vanderkolk is the second volleyball player in Earlham history to receive post-season recognition from the NCAC three times in her career. She earned second-team honors in 2006 and received honorable mention in 2003. Earlham Athletics Hall of Fame 2002 inductee Jodie Bauman (1988-91) was a first-team choice from 1989 to 1991.
Also on Saturday, Vanderkolk was named to the NCAC All-Tournament Team after the Quakers (13-16) appeared the event for the first time since it became a four-team affair in 2004. She led Earlham with nine kills and 14 digs in an opening-round loss to eventual conference champion and No. 1 nationally ranked Wittenberg University.
This season, Vanderkolk led the Quakers with 370 kills and was second on the squad with 75 blocks. McAnnis-Entenman led Earlham with 102 blocks and was third on the team with 294 kills. The sophomore also tied for team leadership in service aces with 34.
Vanderkolk is among the all-time leaders in Earlham history in kills and digs. She is fourth in kills (1,079) and digs (1,064).
