Internship Housing Information

Investing a little bit of time early on in the housing process provides you with more options and could save you money in the long run. Also, living in a residence/area of your choice will make the overall internship experience much more enjoyable. Here are some things to consider when looking for housing:

  1. Employee Housing — the organization that you are interning with may be able to provide you with housing options or at least give you great information about housing options in that area
  2. Connections — If you have any friends and/or relatives living in the city of your internship, see if you can make living arrangements with them. This is usually a much better, if not the best, alternative financially.
  3. Location — Living in a well furnished house with cheap rent is great, but if you are miles away from your internship location with no access to public transportation, it may not be your best option. It is vital that you have a reliable means of transportation to and from your work site.
  4. YOU — Find a place that is situated in an area that compliments activities that interest you.
