Information as
you prepare for Fall 2009:
New students will discuss College governance during orientation
as it's an important aspect of life at Earlham.
New Student Orientation (NSO) introduces
you to friends, academics, discussions, activities and involvements
that will become your Earlham experience. NSO Student Co-Conveners
work with more than 60 student staff members and faculty co-conveners
to plan the Orientation Schedule. You'll meet with your academic
adviser, celebrate Earlham's diversity, be guided through the registration
and course selection process, and get to know each other. Special
meetings are planned for parents and transfer students.
Experiencing EC and Beyond. Find
out during NSO what fun activities are available on and off campus.
You will make
new friends while participating in an activity you enjoy. Be sure
to submit your preferences and submit the Experience
Earlham and Beyond Form by July 17.
Shuttle Service for Airport Arrivals. NSO
staff provides a shuttle service for students who are arriving
at area airports. To make arrangements
for pick up, submit an Arrival
Form by July 17.
Members of the football team will be flipping pancakes
when Earlham's fall
sports teams host a brunch for all new students on
Sunday, August 23.
Residence
Life. The Office of Residence
Life coordinates housing assignments and room changes while implementing
all residence life policies. A staff of Area Directors and Residence
Assistants manages the halls and houses. Their goal is to make Earlham
feel like home to you. Your housing and roommate assignment along
with a mail box card will come to you through the mail. Try to become
familiar with residential policies and services before you arrive.
Campus
Ministries. The Office of
Campus and Quaker Ministries works with faculty, staff and students
to nurture spiritual growth and to help people learn from the Friends
(Quaker) heritage of Earlham. Review the groups and programs offered
and consider what you will do to challenge yourself spiritually at
Earlham. Please complete the Faith
Preference Form by July 17.
Billing
and Payment. The Student Accounts
Office will mail your Fall Semester billing statement in mid-July.
The statement includes Earlham's charges for tuition, fees, room
and board along with a list of grants, scholarships and student
loans (as applicable). Payments or arrangements to pay must be
received in the Student Accounts Office no later than July 31,
2009.
