Independent Study

Independent Study is a form of study by special arrangement with a member of the teaching faculty. Students must file a petition for Independent Study (available in the Registrar's Office). IS 285 is appropriate for beginning work in an area; IS 385, intermediate work; and IS 485, advanced work. Students may earn up to three credits and are advised to enroll in only one Independent Study each semester. These studies receive a standard letter grade.
