Japanese Studies

The Minor

Students pursuing a Minor in Japanese Studies must complete:

  • One Japanese language course at the intermediate level

  • JPNS 236 Introduction to the Study of Japan.

  • Three elective courses, including at least one in Humanities and at least one in the Social Sciences. Two of these courses must be numbered 300 or above; only two of these courses may be taken off campus.

  • Off-Campus Study Program in Japan (full year, one semester, or May Term).
