Athletics
Many Earlham students have distinguished themselves on playing fields as well as in classrooms. They demonstrate that the fun, discipline and vigorous competition of intercollegiate athletics can work together with the intensity and high sense of purpose of rigorous academics.
Earlham, a Division III member of the National Collegiate
Athletic Association, is a part of the North Coast Athletic Conference
(NCAC). All teams may advance through conference, regional and
national competition tournaments.
Other NCAC member schools are Allegheny College, Denison University, Hiram College, Kenyon College, Oberlin College, Ohio Wesleyan University, Wabash College, Wittenberg University and The College of Wooster.

provides state-of-the-art additions and renovations to the existing
Trueblood Fieldhouse. The facility features an 1,800-seat performance
gymnasium; multipurpose gym with indoor basketball, tennis and
volleyball courts; indoor recreational track; natatorium; weight
training and fitness areas; racquetball courts; training room;
team, visitor and coaches' locker rooms; classrooms, offices and
a beautiful Hall of Fame Room.
Outdoor athletic facilities include the newly constructed
Darrell Beane Stadium at the M.O. Ross football field, the Charlie
Matlack soccer field; locker rooms; an eight-lane all-weather track;
a challenging five-mile cross country course; 10 all-weather tennis
courts; and playing and practice fields for soccer, lacrosse and
field hockey. The Earlham baseball team plays home games at Richmond's
McBride Stadium. Earlham's student-run Equestrian Program offers
a stable of College-owned horses, an outdoor riding ring and a
modern indoor riding arena that opened in 2003.
