Counseling and Health Services

Counseling Services is located on the first floor of Earlham Hall. Students can make appointments over the Internet at www.earlham.edu/~sas/health/. Mental health professionals provide short-term, solution-focused counseling and crisis intervention free to all undergraduate students. Counselors can help with referrals to community mental health providers when students have long-term or intensive therapy needs. Counseling Services provides consultation, education and outreach to the entire campus community.

Health Services is located on the first floor of Earlham Hall and provides nursing care for acute illnesses and minor injuries. Nurses staff the walk-in clinic (no appointment needed) from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays. The physician is available by appointment for one hour a day, four days a week.

A nurse practitioner addresses women's health issues twice a month during Women's Clinic, by appointment only. In cases of serious illness, students are referred to Reid Hospital and Health Care Services in Richmond or to another health care provider.

The Counseling and Health Services Office emphasizes wellness through preventive care and educational programs. Recent campus programs provided informative sessions on alcohol, AIDS, safer sex, stress management and sexual assault.
