Humans and Ants — Not So Different After All?:

According to research published by Earlham's Chris Smith, his colleague Chad Tillberg of Linfield College and others, the social structure of "dinosaur ant" colonies in South America share surprising similarities with human societies. "All across the globe," says Smith, "access to food predicts success. Nutrition is a common organizer of division of labor, from the most complex to the simplest of societies." Read more. EC Students Assist in City Cleanup:

More than 175 tons of trash were collected from yards, abandoned buildings and alleyways in Richmond as a part of the city's annual Spring Cleanup. Avis Stewart, vice president for community relations, reports that EC students assisted in cleanup efforts in the Starr and Vaile neighborhoods. Read more.
