Installing Sophos

If Impulse is properly set up and does not detect antivirus software, it will prompt you to download and install Sophos Antivirus. If not, then you may download Sophos here. Log in with your Earlham username and password.

WARNING: Before installing Sophos Antivirus, make sure to uninstall all other antivirus software from your machine, even if you have not used them in a long time. Click "Start", then "Control Panel", and then "Add/Remove Programs". Make sure that the programs "Norton Antivirus", "McAfee VirusScan", "Vexira", "AVG", or any other antivirus programs you may have had are not installed.

Anti-Virus Warning Hot link goes to Sophos remoteinstaller.exe requiring Authentication.

Click Run

Click install and the following screen will appear.

When the installation has completed, right click on the new Sophos Remote Updater Icon in the task bar and select Configure. Enter your Earlham User name and password (Password & Confirm Password).

Click Ok. Right click on the Sophos Remote Updater Icon in the task bar and select Update Now.
