Hunt Seat Equestrian Team

The Earlham College Hunt Seat Equestrian Team competes in Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) Zone 7 Region 1. These competitions challenge riders to apply their skills, on the flat and over fences, to horses that they have never met before. It requires riders to prepare a wide range of riding techniques, to be flexible and creative in their riding, and to think on the fly as they get to know the horses in the first seconds of the class. Classes begin with a each member of the division drawing the name of a horse out of a hat. Riders then mount and perform. High placings contribute to the team score.

The team is coached by Kellie Riggott and co-captained by Elizabeth Harper, Ella Barry and Rachel Wadleigh.
