Facilities and Services
The Suzanne Hoerner Jackson Equestrian Facility is located on Earlham’s back campus. The program relocated in 1998 to this great new facility. It is comprised of 16 acres which are divided into four sizable pastures, a holding pen, a 100x200 outdoor riding ring, a 100x200 indoor riding arena, and a barn. The barn has box stalls for 25 horses, an office, 3 tack rooms, 2 bathrooms, a feed room, a maintenance room, and a classroom. The hay and shavings rooms are protected by fireproof doors. Behind the pastures are miles of trails perfect for leisurely trail riding. Just last winter our facility was made complete with the addition of a covered walkway connecting the indoor arena to the horse barn. The project was a huge success and we look forward to its use as winter quickly approaches!
Services offered by the cooperative include riding lessons for equestrians of all levels, co-op style boarding, and job opportunities for Earlham students. Throughout the year, the equestrian cooperative also holds a variety of workshops and events for both the Earlham and Richmond Communities.
