The two-week summer Explore-A-College Program at Earlham College allows your student to take part in a "dress rehearsal" for the real college experience before he or she graduates from high school. By taking a class taught by an Earlham professor, students develop college-level discussion, research, and time management skills that will better prepare them for college work.
And, upon successful completion of the two-week course, your student will earn two semester hours of transferable college credit!
Cost
The cost For the Explore-A-College Program is $1,700, which covers tuition, room, board, and two semester hours of college credit. The college credit (pass/fail) is given upon successful completion of the course, and is transferable. One transcript will be sent to you after the program; subsequent transcripts must be requested from the Registrar’s Office at Earlham College.
You also must plan for travel to and from the program, books/course materials, and off-campus and personal activities. Costs for books and/or materials range from $10 to $120 depending on the class. The amount of money needed for extra activities depends on the personal spending habits of each student. Students have opportunities to go off campus accompanied by a staff member to go to a movie, get ice cream, visit a local museum, go shopping, etc.
Any student who successfully completes an Explore-A-College Program course and eventually enrolls at Earlham College receives a credit toward Earlham’s tuition. This credit equals one-half of the Explore-A-College Program tuition paid by the student.
