| Earlham’s
participation in the North
Coast Athletic Conference offers competition with 10
colleges and universities in Indiana, Ohio and Pennsylvania
that value strong liberal arts intellectual traditions. Earlham
expects its athletics program to facilitate the development
of student athletes — building skills of individual
initiative, collaborative action, leadership, personal discipline
and organization. The College’s Athletics
and Wellness Mission Statement summarizes our commitment.
Earlham's Athletics and Wellness Center focuses on the promotion of recreation and good health for the greater Richmond area as well as the campus community. The facility features an indoor running track, a cardio and strength training room, a group fitness studio, an indoor climbing wall, four indoor tennis courts, two racquetball courts, a 25-meter by six-lane pool, and a performance gymnasium with seating for 1,800 to host athletic events.
The student-run Equestrian Program provides
lessons and intercollegiate competition. The Suzanne
Hoerner Jackson Equestrian Center provides indoor (completed
in 2003) and outdoor riding arenas as well as 20-horse capacity
in modern stables.
