Endowed Scholarships

Since Earlham’s founding, the College has made a promise to provide an exceptional education to deserving students from all backgrounds, regardless of their ability to pay.

This is a challenging promise to keep — scholarship support is one of our greatest needs and commitments — but with the generosity of many people, Earlham currently awards over $25 million in financial assistance annually to students thanks to the perpetual support provided by endowed scholarships.

Establishing a named endowed scholarship provides a permanent and personal way for you to make a difference in the life of Earlham. You would work with the College to establish award guidelines from which to select and award the scholarships. Criteria may reflect a special area of interest, academic discipline, geographic region, academic merit or financial need.

An endowed scholarship becomes a permanently endowed fund when the contribution reaches a minimum of $50,000, which generates enough income through investments of the fund to award one $2500 scholarship per year. The larger the fund, the more scholarships it will produce.

Endowed funds are invested and managed as part of the Earlham endowment. The Office of Financial Aid administers all scholarships.
