Welcome from Earlham Student Government

Welcome to a new year at Earlham College! Earlham is an amazing place with an abundance of opportunities to explore and inspire. This handbook serves as a valuable resource to help you understand the Principles and Practices upon which our institution is built. It is also a navigational aid through the many policies, services and acronyms of Earlham.

Earlham Student Government (ESG) is the network of campus committees involving students, staff and faculty entrusted to collaborate in upholding policies and streamlining College operations. Cabinet, the most visible component, is comprised of an elected body of students who are charged with representing student viewpoints to the administration. In addition, this organization plans campus-wide events and partners with departments and individuals to increase awareness of decisions that will affect the entire campus.

Our power as students extends throughout the College and its processes. We encourage you to become involved and engaged in this interactive liberal arts experience by speaking your mind, planning events, sparking dialogue and joining a committee. Take some time, scan this book and then get going!
