Artist and Lecture Series Presents: San Jose Taiko, 7:30pm, Goddard
San Jose Taiko (SJT) has been mesmerizing audiences with the powerful, spellbinding, and propulsive sounds of the taiko. Inspired by traditional Japanese drumming, SJT performers express the beauty and harmony of the human spirit through the voice of the taiko as they strive to create new dimensions in Asian American movement and music. Sponsored by the Earlham Artist and Lecture Endowed Fund and the Holiday Inn of Richmond. Tickets required. $5/adults, $3/students and seniors.

Come taste food from around the world in the Earlham Dining Hall! The meal is included on all meal plans. If you do not have a meal plan, tickets are $3 for students, $6 for non-students.

Brian Owensby (Latin American History Professor at University of Virginia) and Kris Davidson (photographer) have been working together in the topics of ‘Borders: Negotiating Identities’ and they are now preparing a project called: "American Mestizaje: Documenting a transformation."

David Barsamian is an award winning founder and director of Alternative Radio, the independent weekly series based in Boulder, Colorado. AR presents information and perspectives that are ignored or distorted in the corporate-controlled media. The one-hour program is broadcast on public radio stations in the United States, Canada, Australia, and other countries. Q: What do the Iran Hostage Crisis, Iran-Contra Affair, and a 1953 coup have in common?
A: They are all important parts of the history of U.S.-Iran relations since the end of WWII.
Join us for an educative forum on the history of U.S.-Iran relations since the end of the Second World War and the formation of the State of Israel. Provided will be a brief history of U.S.-Iran relations, a student panel composed of many students from the Mid-East and South Asia, and a Q & A session. Come and educate yourself as well as write a letter to the U.S. State Department to urge them to improve U.S.-Iran relations!
