Courses and Academic Information

The East Africa program takes place during the fall semester.

Orientation
Students accepted to the program are required to participate in the orientation sessions prior to leaving for the program. The sessions are designed to prepare the student for cross-cultural experiences, and will include passport, visa, and travel information, readings, films, lecutres, and discussions with former participants. Students will receive 1 semester hour credit for successful completion of the orientation.

In the Field
Students will earn a total of 17 semester hour credits for successful completion of the program. Courses include:

Perspectives on East Africa
Conservation Biology and Preserve Management
Social Cultures of East Africa
Kiswahili
AWPE: Walking and Trekking
