Program Leaders: Susan Willson and Sarah Schaack
October 14 (part 1)

Students will be arriving in Tanzania on August 22! The program is based in Arusha, a small city in the center of Tanzania's northern safari circuit. Arusha is a great town and will serve as a departure point for our travels to other parts of the country.

To prepare for our semester abroad, students were asked to read several books:

The Third Chimpanzee by Jared Diamond

The Ponds of Kalambayi by Mike Tidwell

The Worlds of a Maasai Warrior by Tepilit ole Saitoti

During the program, students will be reading book chapters and articles from the primary literature. Course discussions will be based on these readings, observations, and experiences in-country. In addition, some of the courses will have research projects and essay exams to help students synthesize their learning and experience throughout the semester.

More news from Arusha in just a few short weeks!!
