The Middle East

scene in london

Earlham administered a program in Jerusalem for more than twenty years. Due to unrest in Israel, the West Bank and Gaza, we have temporarily suspended this program. We have established a relationship with the School for International Training's on-going program in Jordan to continue to provide Earlham students the opportunity to study in the Middle East. Based in Amman, this program offers students an inside perspective of the role Jordan plays, as a moderate Arab state, in the region and in the world. Through coursework in Arabic language; a seminar including history, politics, culture and society, religion, and gender issues; a field study seminar; and an independent study project; students learn of the accomplishments and challenges of this relatively young nation-state. Accommodations are provided in home-stays, hostels, research institutes and small hotels. The program includes an on-site orientation and educational excursions to sites such as Petra, Aqaba, Wadi Rum and the desert castles.

To apply, please submit all required application materials to IPO by the published deadline.
