Courses and Academic Information

At Earlham, Waseda students will find faculty committed to helping them learn both in and out of the classroom. Our faculty are available to meet with students, answer questions, and provide clarification on points made in class. It is common that other students will meet to work in groups and discuss class material on their own. Earlham also offers many academic resources, including the Writing Lab, libraries, computing services and tutoring.

The curriculum of the TSA Program is designed to build skills in English while preparing students to enroll in regular Earlham courses. In the fall, studies will be Students and Teaching Assistantfocused on content such as U.S. cultural issues, intercultural issues, and global issues. In the spring, a limited number of core courses will continue the themes established in the fall. During both semesters, students will have the opportunity to enroll in Earlham courses. Many students are attracted to Earlham for its strengths in Peace and Global Studies and International Studies. Waseda students will find courses in these areas a good complement to the core courses.
