Classroom life is only one aspect of Earlham where Waseda students will have the opportunity to learn. Students will continue to increase their understanding of U.S. and other cultures through other college events. These include bi-weekly convocations, frequent
guest lectures, workshops and presentations. Students will also have the opportunity to participate in student clubs, sports, and performance groups. Many current Waseda students have found these opportunities to be the best for strengthening their English skills and developing friendships with other Earlham students.
Earlham places a high value on activeparticipation in the college community. As members of the Earlham community, TSA students will also have the opportunity to become involved. This will be done most often within the residence halls on campus. TSA students will be integrated into Earlham’s residence hall system, each living with an Earlham student roommate.
Through hall meetings and other activities, Waseda students will become part of the Earlham community.
Community life does not stop at Earlham. Waseda students will also be provided with opportunities to reach beyond the Earlham campus into the Richmond community. In past years, students have volunteered their time with various local organizations, working with school children and others. Group and individual volunteer activities can be arranged.
