| Electronic Communications
at Earlham
Introduction
Within this document you will find information
about the missions and operations of Earlham's electronic
communication media: Around The Heart, Earlham Faculty Listserv,
Staff Listserv, Student Electronic Distribution Service, and the
Earlham Miscellany Listserv. In addition to print, these communication
vehicles use technological innovations to our advantage, incorporating
e-mail, a blog and the Web.
At the beginning of each semester,
faculty and staff will be reminded of the messages appropriate
to each mode of communication at Earlham. Faculty are encouraged
to use Around The Heart Daily whenever possible to help reduce
duplicate clutter on the listservs. In addition to this posting,
information about the listservs and/or other communications will
be distributed to new faculty and staff during orientation.
In earlier discussions, we agreed that the Earlham
community listservs should represent and offer a balanced approach
to
communicating
that would reduce clutter and organize our communications but
not strictly monitor them.
