Earlham Faculty Listserv (Faculty)
Mission
The Earlham Faculty Listserv provides a vehicle
for sharing both official College messages and individual contributions
with the Earlham faculty. Faculty become recipients of the Earlham
Listserv upon their hiring, and membership is managed by the Academic
Dean's administrative assistant. Access is also available to secretarial
staff who request it or are specifically identified.
Content
Messages appropriate to the Earlham Listserv include:
- Notices from campus offices about calendar, deadlines, employment,
policies, hours, procedures
- Announcements of new weekly issues of Around The Heart
- Health and Safety Announcements
- Governance agenda items or brief reports from campus
governance committees
- Issues of College business: e.g., faculty meeting or employee
council business; curriculum, campus life, governance, institutional
policies
- Around The Heart Daily
- Requests to review documents or provide feedback
- Faculty meeting agenda and related business
- Notices of accidents, serious illness and death in
compliance with privacy rules
Note: Topics appropriate for the Earlham Miscellany Listserv are not appropriate here.
Distribution
Faculty are automatically subscribed to the list
and staff may be subscribed at their choice.
Submissions
Members of the listserv can send messages to the
listserv. Messages from others are approved for posting by the
Clerk of the Faculty who serves as Moderator.
Note: Sending a message to all three listservs
does not improve the message's reach; it only causes needless
duplication. Because faculty and staff may unsubscribe to the Earlham
Miscel Listserv, it is best to send messages intended for all faculty
to the Faculty Listserv and those intended for all staff
to the Staff Listserv. |
