What percentage of students on this campus has full-time
use of personal computers?
100% — All students on campus have access to
at least one 24-hour lab at all times when classes are in session.
There are
six
public
lab spaces which contain more than 150 computer workstations.
Additionally, 80% or more own a personal computer.
According to a recent study, 98% use Earlham computing facilties.
What is the ratio of public access computers to undergraduate
enrollment?
That ratio is currently 7:1 — that is seven
students for every public access computer — for enrolled students
on campus. The ratio is 8:1 when considering total undergraduate
enrollment which includes students who are studying abroad.
What percentage of students uses e-mail and other
software applications on a regular basis?
99% of Earlham students use e-mail and other applications
for classwork, research, or personal business on regular basis. According
to a recent poll, more than 95% use a Web browser on a regular basis.
Does the campus allow personal Web pages?
Yes. All Earlham students are automatically provided
Web space during new student week in their first year. Students are
encouraged
to use this space for class or personal projects. Four of 6 public
lab spaces are configured with Dreamweaver MX Web page editing software.

staff readily accessible electronically?
Yes. Earlham’s Web site provides listings for
faculty, staff and administration both alphabetically and by department,
