Facilities Planning

Information Services is currently involved in a planning process to address its most accute space needs. This planning process began in Spring 2003 with the development of a needs document. This needs document, Facilities Planning Summary (.doc, .pdf), is available.

Since then Information Services has developed a Building Program Statement which is also available.

In the summer of 2006 a group of five IS staff visited four libraries --Valparaiso, Lake Forst, Elmhurst and Illinois Wesleyan. A photographic record of those visits is available for reference purposes.

We were visited by Steven Foote, partner in Perry Dean Rogers archtectural firm of Boston, on October 31 and November 1, 2006, to review our building and advise us on the best approach to addressing the needs expressed in the Building Program.

After receiving his initial report early in 2007, the Building Planning Committee met and recommendations were developed and submitted to senior staff. College senior staff approved the recommendations and they were submitted to Steven Foote, who then revised his report. The complete revised report, with all the associated documents, is gathered into one pdf file.
