Earlham College is accepting applications for the position of Farm Manager in the Environmental Leadership Program. This is a part-time (15-20 hours per week) staff position. Salary is $12.00 per hour, funded from proceeds of the Evans-Jones-Nicholson Fund.
The Environmental Leadership Program has made progress in many areas in the Sustainable Agriculture Program. During the 2016-17 academic year, student-led courses in sustainable agriculture were taught during both semesters, and a high tunnel greenhouse has been installed. The Farm Manager Position will require extensive hands-on gardening and/or sustainable agriculture experience and time to spend on the farm with students on a daily basis as to establish a well-organized, well-run campus farm.
This position will be supervised by the Director of the Environmental Leadership Program and will work in collaboration with other staff within the Environmental Leadership Program. Moving forward, staffing in the Environmental Leadership Program would include the Director, the Director of Outdoor and Environmental Education, and the Farm Manager.
