Earlham College seeks applicants for a position as Program Associate of its Border Studies Program based in El Paso, Texas, and Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua. This program is designed to introduce undergraduate students from throughout the U.S. to the complexities of the borderlands. This is a full-time, 12-month administrative faculty position.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the Resident Director in directing the program.
  • Providing student support.
  • Serving as the officer manager.
  • Planning special events.
  • Organizing short term border visits.
  • Working as a team member with the program staff to ensure the successful execution of the all program elements.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree is required, a master's degree is preferred.
  • Excellent Spanish and English skills.
  • Experience in a Spanish-speaking setting.
  • A desire to work with and provide support to undergraduates in an off-campus program in a bicultural setting.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience in administrative work.
  • Ability to work as a team member.
  • Ability to drive a van.

Additionally, this person should be excited about traveling with a group of undergraduate students to various sites throughout the U.S. Southwest and Mexico, and helping to facilitate educational visits to the border for a wide variety of students.
