Parking and Entrance to the Earlham Libraries
Driving Directions to Campus
Lilly Library and College Archives & Friends Collection
Lilly
Library is located next to Carpenter Hall; parking is available in the
Carpenter Hall lot. There are wheelchair accessible parking spaces and
a ramp providing access to the main library entrance.
Wildman Science Library
Wildman Science Library is located in Noyes Hall,
the building connecting Stanley and Dennis Halls. Parking is available
on the west side of the library in the Tyler Hall parking lot. There
are three wheelchair accessible parking spaces and a ramp providing access
to Noyes Hall.
More parking is available in the Dennis Hall parking lot. From there,
proceed to the main wheelchair accessible entrance to Dennis Hall (on
the south side of the building), and continue through Dennis into Noyes
Hall.

Access to Lilly Library and College Archives & Friends
Collection
All
three floors of Lilly Library are wheelchair accessible. The elevator
is located next to the main stairway. The College Archives & Friends
Collection are located on the lower level, as are the Earlham Computing
Services and Media Resources.
There are wheelchair accessible restrooms on both the main floor and
the lower level.
Access to Wildman Science Library
The main floor of Wildman
Science Library is wheelchair accessible. The lower level of Wildman
Science Library, including the Wildman PC Lab, is accessible by an elevator
in Noyes Hall. A circulation desk worker will provide assistance in using
the elevator and entering the library/PC lab on the lower level. If you
prefer, staff can retrieve materials.
Wheelchair accessible restrooms are located on the lower floor of Stanley
Hall. The circulation desk worker will provide assistance in using the
elevator.
General Information
Research Help in the Libraries
Reference service is provided
in both libraries. In Lilly Library, reference help is available weekdays
from 10:00 am to noon, 1:00 to 5:00 pm, and 7:00 to 10:00 pm. Weekend
reference hours throughout the semester are on Sunday from 1:00 to 5:00
pm and 7:00 to 10:00 pm. During the second half of each semester (beginning
after fall and spring breaks), there is additional Saturday reference
from 1:00 to 5:00 pm. Telephone reference (983-1302) is available during
these hours. E-mail
reference is also available; while questions may
be submitted at any time, responses will be provided during regularly
scheduled reference hours.
In Wildman Science Library, the science librarian offers reference assistance
weekdays from 8:00 am to noon and 1:00-5:00 pm. You can call Sara
Penhale for reference help or to make an appointment (983-1612). E-mail
reference is also available; while questions may be submitted at any time, responses
will be provided during regularly scheduled reference hours.
Online Catalog
The Earlham
Libraries Catalog is accessible through
the libraries' home page. Accessible computer terminals are located in
each library and at other campus locations. There is also off-campus
access.
Loan periods and Renewals

Interlibrary Loan
Students, staff, and faculty of Earlham College may
request books and
articles through
interlibrary loan. Requests may be made in the library or through our
online forms.
Retrieving Materials
Upon request, the circulation staff will retrieve
books and journals from the stacks. If time permits, requests may be
filled on demand but for best service, call ahead to the circulation
desks of Lilly Library (983-1287) or Wildman Science Library (983-1245).
The library provides access to electronic books and journals full-text
via the web. Other journal articles are available on the web through
databases that include full-text. These web-based materials may be accessed
from computers both on-campus and off-campus.
Copiers
The circulation staff will assist patrons in using the photocopiers
in the libraries. If time permits, requests may be filled on demand but
for best service, call ahead to the circulation desks of Lilly Library
(983-1287) or Wildman Science Library (983-1245).
Study Rooms
There are quiet study rooms in both Lilly Library
and Wildman Science Library. Requests for Lilly rooms can be made in
person or by calling Jeanette Wilson in Lilly Library (983-1269). For
Wildman reservations, contact Mary
Bogue (983-1245).
Microforms
The circulation desk will provide assistance in using microfiche
or microfilm materials.
Audiovisual Materials
Instructional Technology and Media
(ITAM) provides videos, DVDs,
CDs, and other audiovisual materials to the Earlham community. Their
facilities are accessible on the lower level of Lilly Library. For further
information, call weekdays during business hours (983-1314).
Adaptive Technology
The college's Academic Support Services office has
adaptive technology for use by members of the Earlham community. For
